Inside the creation of Globality: The EP

STORY TIME WITH JIMMY CURTIS

" 2025 started quieter than I’m used to, and that took a moment to adjust to. I’m not someone who likes to sit still, yaknaawimean? I move off momentum : shows, energy, progress, and this year I intentionally slowed things down. Fewer shows, I spent more time abroad and had fewer releases. Not to pause though, but to focus. Choosing to fully commit to recording my upcoming EP made things clear. My dad always says: sometimes you need to reduce speed to move forward properly.. Well, I must say, he is right though lol."

At the start of the year, back in the Netherlands, I took the time to check the direction. Not because I was lost, but because I wanted to make sure everything was still aligned, you see? Even with a notebook filled with plans for 2025 and ideas that had been forming for a while. The doubt wasn’t big, but it was necessary, 'cause In the end everything fell into place. In '25 I let go of moving towards expectations. With this EP I moved closer to doing exactly what feels right to me; a fresh sound, new energy and an introduction from my perspective but also from how the outside world experiences me.

Come In (I’m lit)

Come In (i’m lit) was created based on my lifestyle, especially during my time in Suriname.. Real situations and moments where the confidence constantly was where it needed to be, you know? the energy, the reactions, the looks (the eyes chico, they never lie) and the attention. Specifically during that time but still now. This track isn’t about saying something I couldn’t before, but about saying it with more detail, so if you listen closely you can picture a whole situation, a story you fill in yourself, and that’s intentional.

It’s meant to feel like a confidence boost, a moment where nothing can break you.

In the middle of the rollout

Being in the middle of an EP rollout comes with pressure though, forreal. The deadlines I set for myself matter, and the vision in my head has to come to life exactly how I see it. Creating the music is always the best part but everything around it is where it gets heavier. Still, I appreciate the process though. It shows me more of who I am and what I’m capable of. Sometimes chaotic but it remains clear with the right guidance. But more than anything? There's excitement, I can definitely feel where this is heading.

Globality

Globality is the EP where I'll be setting my mark on a wider scale. It will open new doors, a new universe, a new artistic side and tell the story of the lifestyle and situations I've lived while performing globally. Personal, even when it moves big.

Globality EP Tour '26

Going on tour means alot to me. It proves there’s a market for me and for what I create. That confirmation fuels me as the artist as well as personally, and reminds me of why I'm doing this. There's no stopping, Only growth. The only “fear” is that it might become bigger than expected, but yeah, expectations only disappoint anyways, so i guess the fear is only fair lol.

The next stop:

Leave The Parti

My next single #2 from "Globality", Leave The Parti, shows another side. It's about meeting someone in a party setting where the chemistry is so strong that everything else fades and you both disappear into your own bubble, a kind of forbidden love, drawn to intimacy because the connection hits on a deeper level, feel me? It's only right to release it after "Come In (i’m lit)", Because the warmth of the track matches the cold after the holidays. End of January rolling into February, perfect for the Valentine’s Day vibes.

We’re in the middle of the Globality era, and this is only the beginning. Thank you to everyone listening, sharing, showing up to the shows, and moving through this journey with me.
